　Gallery Pictor（ギャラリーピクトル）では、2019年11月30日(土)〜12月21日(土)まで、幸田大地の写真展 Forest / background を開催します。

　視覚によって像として結ばれるもの、その真実性と写真との関係を問いながら制作をつづける写真家・幸田大地。“Forest” では、漆黒の森を撮影することにより、神秘性に近づく手段としての写真の可能性を探り、その時の試みが、「亡き母のポートレイトを撮影する」という次なる挑戦、”background” へと繋がっていきます。

　”background” は、新人写真家の登竜門として定着している公募展・写真新世紀※（主催：キヤノン株式会社）2019年度優秀賞を受賞。本展では、受賞作 “background” と、表現手法としてその前身となった “Forest” の２つのシリーズを展示します。

　　We are going to have the Photo Exhibition of Daichi Koda, “Forest / background,” from Saturday, Nov. 30 through Saturday, Dec. 21.

　　Daichi Koda has been working looking into the relation between a photo and the truth developed in human eyes. In “Forest” he took a forest sunk in the dark to sound capability of photo how to approach a mystic. The try lead to his next challenge, “background,” in which he “took a picture of late mother of his.”

　　The work “background” won the Excellence Award in the open *the 2019 New Cosmos of Photography (sponsored by Canon Co. Ltd.), which is acknowledged as a passport for new comers. Our exhibition here presents the two series, the prize-awarded “background” and “Forest”, its predecessor as a way of expression.

*New Cosmos of Photography : A project for culture support by Canon Co. Ltd. ; founded in 1991 aiming at finding fresh talent who step into new fields of photo.

過ぎ去ったものについて語ろうとする時、

生じて現れ出る新しいものに

私の関心は集中しているようです。

Forestとbackgroundは、母の死をきっかけとしました。

言葉、光、肉体、記憶。

写真はいつも、人間にとっての何かを記録しています。

My mother passed away to give me an incentive to produce “Forest” and “background.”

Words, light, the flesh, and memory.

Photos are always to record something for the human beings.

幸田大地（詳しいプロフィールはこちら）

1983年生まれ。2009年日本写真芸術学会奨励賞（上野彦馬賞内）、同年日本ドキュメンタリー写真ユースコンテスト優秀賞。国内外で個展、グループ展を開催。2019年に私家版の写真集 “Forest”と”background” を発行。”background” が写真新世紀2019年度優秀賞に選出される。

Born in 1983. 2009 Encourage Prize by the Japan Society for Arts and History of Photography (Hikoma Ueno Prize). The Excellence Award of the Japan Documentary Photo Youth Contest in the same year. Held/joined solo exhibitions and group exhibitions inside and out of the nation. Published private books “Forest” and “background.” The Excellence Award of the 2019 New Cosmos of Photography was awarded to “background”
