Kayo Miyaji Solo Show -Sight-
宮地の描く「風景」は、ある一点の時間や空間を捉えたものではなく、様々な景色の断片を再構成して産まれたものです。風景の要素は、過去に自身が撮影した写真が元になっています。
近年、私たちは日常的に大量に写真を撮り、またそうして撮影された写真を大量に目にします。しかしそれをじっくりと「観る」（観察する）ことはほとんどないでしょう。観察することによって気づくこと、感じることを、作家は追いかけます。
そうして構成された画面は、曖昧で不安定な記憶の中から何か一つの「核」を見つけ出そうとしているかのようです。
Miyaji’s ’Sight’ does not capture a single point of time or space, but is reconstructed from fragments of various sceneries. The elements of her artworks are produced from pictures taken by herself.
Recently, people take many pictures and see them in daily life. In spite, almost people don’t observe them carefully. But she does. She pursues what she recognizes and feels through observing.
The constructed image looks as if it is trying to find something certain from a vague and unstable memory.
Artist Statement
過去に出会った風景の断片。
出会った時には、注視していなかった。
思い出の一部、記録の一つとしてシャッターをきったものもある。
そんな写真を、ジッと見ている内に、部分が気になりだす。
主として撮ったはずの対象から離れ、背景に写り込んだモノ。
逆光によって統合されたシルエット…。
意識は本来の場から離れていく。
画面は、そんな部分の集合。
画面との対話の中で、色は変換され、再構成された「景」となった。

Fragments of sights I have encountered in the past.
I didn’t consciously recognize when I saw them.
Some were shot by my camera as part of a memory or a record.
While looking at such pictures, I start to notice ‘the part’, not the main object.
My consciousness moves away from its original place
into the objects that were taken in the background or silhouette integrated by backlight….
I draw pictures which consists of a set of such parts.
Through the interaction with the composition, the colors are converted
and the parts are reconstructed as “Sight”.

宮地 佳代 略歴（詳細はこちら）
2001年大阪芸術大学芸術学部美術学科卒業、2003年同大学院芸術制作研究科修士課程修了。2004年第78回国展新人賞、2019年第93回国展にて損保ジャパン日本興亜美術財団賞、会員推挙。現在、国画会会員。

Master’s Degree at Graduate School of Osaka University of Arts in 2003. New Face Award at the 78th KOKUTEN * in 2014. Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Award of the 93th KOKUTEN in 2019. Currently a member of KOKUGAKAI.
