このプログラムでは、巻貝と木を使用した彫刻作品のシリーズを制作していこうと考えています。

巻貝の外側が波によって削られ、軸の部分が残ったものを採集し、貝殻の持つゆがみや傾きなどの動きをもとに、人物像を木で彫る作品となります。

貝殻の軸＝「中心」から外側へ世界を広げていくようなイメージで、貝殻の形をもとに彫刻を制作します。

「中心はどこにでもあり、多数ある」、その中心から派生する世界がそれぞれどのような形になっていくのか、１年間のプログラムを通して提示、発見していきたいと考えています。

I am planning to create a series of sculptures using spiral shells and wood for this program.
The shells that I use for my work have the outer part cut off by the waves, leaving the shaft. I carve the body parts out of the wood according to the distortions and tilts of the shells.

With the image of expanding the world outward from the axis of the shell, i.e. ‘center’, I create sculptures based on the shape of a seashell.

Through this year-long program, I would like to present and discover the world derived from ‘numerous centers’ that could be anywhere.
