Yui Furuyama Statement for Go back and forth, Proceed at your pleasure
心が動く、どこかに行こうとする。それについて行くこと。
日が陰り、また差しこむように変わる、その動きを追いかけること。
石が転がっていくときの気持ち、何かの拍子に。転がって、とうとう私が石になる。
思えば、私にとって遊びはいつも、運動の隙間に生まれる「状態」のようです。
それは、暴力的な時もあるし、すごく穏やかな時もある気がします。
引き合う、突き放す、揺れ動く力の中で、生まれるものを楽しみにしています。

My mind moves, my mind tries to go somewhere. I follow it.
The sun changes from shading to shining again. I follow its movement.
When a stone rolls away from something,
I roll away and finally become a stone.
Thinking back, ‘playing’ always seems, for me,
to be a state that is created in the gaps between movement.
I feel it can be violent at times and very calm at other times.
I look forward to see what is created in the forces
that pull together, push apart, and sway back and forth.
