Gallery Pictor では2022年12月7日(水)～12月25日(日)まで、ユキ・ホワイトの個展《Keep on Walking》を開催いたします。
昨年7月に当ギャラリーで開催した個展《To be Different》では、互いに異なるヒトやモノが関わり合うことで生まれる新しいアイデアやエネルギーをキャンバス上で表現したユキ・ホワイト。その根底には、人間の持つ可能性や力を信じる強い思いがあります。
パンデミックや戦争、それによる世界の安全保障の不安定化など、私たちを取り巻く環境がますます混迷を極める中で、ホワイトの視点は「前を向いて歩み続ける人」の姿に向けられています。
《Keep on Walking》は、一年を終えて新しい年を迎える、つまり未来に踏み出そうとする今この時期に、ぜひ受け取っていただきたいメッセージです。
アーティスト・ステートメント（抜粋）
3年前、私達は現在経験しているような生活を送ることになるとは思ってもいませんでした。パンデミックは世界に甚大な影響を与えました。多くの方が亡くなり、後遺症がある方や仕事を失った方も多くいます。パンデミックが原因で倒産した会社もありますし、暴力も増加しています。私達の日常の「普通の」生活は変わり、もう以前の「普通の」生活ではありません。私達はまだこのパンデミックと闘っており、それはまだ終わっていません。
このような環境下で、私はいつも人々の強さと回復力に驚かされます。苦難の後に再び立ち上がる人々の勇気に拍手を送りたいです。私は人の可能性と強さを信じています。恐怖の中で生きるのではなく、苦難の後でも私達それぞれの道を歩き続けましょう。

ユキ・ホワイト 略歴（詳しいプロフィールはこちら）
2011 年よりニューヨークを拠点に作品を発表。2013年から2015年まで、抽象画家ビル・ジェンセン（Bill Jensen）のスタジオでアシスタントを務めながら、Jeffery Leder Gallery（ニューヨーク・クイーンズ）や440 Gallery（同・ブルックリン）などのコンペティションを通過し、展覧会に参加。2014年には在ニューヨーク日本国総領事館にて個展を開催。ニューヨーク州立ファッション工科大学卒業（絵画専攻）。東京都出身。

We are pleased to have Yuki White Solo Exhibition <Keep on Walking> from Wednesday, December 7th through Sunday, December 25th.
In her previous solo exhibition <To be Different>, which was held at the gallery in July 2021, Yuki depicted the new ideas and energy that are created when different people and things interact with each other on her canvas. She has a strong belief in the potential and power of human beings.
As the environment surrounding us becomes increasingly chaotic, with pandemics, wars, and the resulting instability in global security, Yuki’s perspective turns to those who keep moving forward.
<Keep on Walking> is a message that we hope to deliver to all of you now that we are about to start a new year, in other words, when we are about to step out into the future.
Artist Statement [excerpts]
Three years ago, we never expected the life that we are experiencing right now. The pandemic has had a huge influence on our world. People have passed away, suffer from aftereffects, and have lost their jobs. Companies are filing for bankruptcy. Violence is increasing. Our daily “ordinary” life has changed. It is not ordinary anymore. We are still fighting against this pandemic. This pandemic is not over yet.
Under these circumstances, I am always amazed at people’s resilience and strength. I would like to applaud people’s courage to get back up after a fall. I believe in humanity’s potential and strength. So, let’s keep on walking our own path even after a fall, instead of living in fear.

Yuki White Short Biography (See details)
Started her artist career based in New York in 2011. From 2013 to 2015, while working as an assistant of Bill Jensen Studio, she participated in exhibitions through competitions such as Jeffery Leder Gallery in Queens, New York and 440 Gallery in Brooklyn. In 2014, she held a solo exhibition ‘NY-TOKYO/JAPAN-US Exhibition’at the Consulate General of Japan in New York. Graduated from FIT, State University of New York (Majored in Fine Arts with specialization in Painting). Born in Tokyo.
