抽象作品によって引き起こされる鑑賞者の無意識の反応の観察に興味を持った私は、自分の作品で抽象表現を探求するようになりました。鑑賞者が気づかなくても、無意識のうちに作品に反応することがあり、この反応はシンプルでありながらパワフルです。

私の作品を通して、このユニークな体験を鑑賞者の方々にしていただければ幸いです。 この体験は、私たちが慣れている口頭でのコミュニケーションよりも直接的で自由なものです。

私は抑圧された声を抽象作品を通して表現します。言葉で伝えられないことを抽象的な形で表現することは、私の感情に忠実だと感じています。視覚的な表現がない音楽のように、感情を体験し、風景 を想像することができます。

絵画は多次元の視覚言語であり、慣れ親しんだ方法とは異なる方法でより 深く、自分自身、他者、そして世界とコミュニケーションをとることができます。

今回の展覧会では、「違っていて良い」(It’s OK to be different)というメッセージを送りたいと思います。この展覧会のテーマは多様性です。誰もが生まれ持った肌の色や性別や性的指向や国籍などで差別されることなく、自分らしくありのままで生きることができる多様性のある社会の方が健全であり、お互いに協力し合うことであらゆる変化や複雑な問題にも対応しやすいより強い社会だと私は信じています。

多様性のある社会はまた、違った視点やユニークな経験を持つ人々によって新しいものや解決策を生み出しやすくし、人々の生活を変えていったり、より良き社会へと導く原動力になるのではと私は考えています。

私たちは皆異なっており、時には私たちの間の違いが大きく見えることもあります。 しかし、人類の起源、生命の起源を見れば、私たちは最初はすべて同じであり、私たちの違いなど生命の神秘に比べれば些細なことであることがわかります。

人生は短すぎて、他の誰かになろうとして時間を無駄にすることはできません。ですから、他人の人生を生きるように言われたとしても、私たちが自身のありのままを受け入れ、私たちが生きたい人生を送りましょう。私たちは生まれながらに皆特別で、ユニークで、美しいです。それはこの世界をより面白く、強く、そして生きる価値のあるものにします。

My interest in observing viewer’s unconscious response evoked by abstract works has inspired me to explore this topic in my own work. Even if one is not aware, there is subconscious reception of the artwork by the viewer, this is simple but powerful.

Through my work, I encourage this unique experience which can be more direct and free than the verbal communication we are accustomed to.

I translate suppressed voice into abstract work. Expressing what cannot be communicated verbally in abstract form feels true to my emotions. It is similar to music which has no visual expression but allows us to experience emotions and imagine sceneries.
Painting is a multi-dimensional visual language that allows me to communicate differently and more deeply with myself, others, and the world.

In this exhibition, I would like to send the message that It’s OK to be different. The theme in this exhibition is diversity. I believe diverse society is healthier and stronger because we can deal with drastic changes and complicated difficulties by cooperating each other. Diverse society will also help to create new things and solutions, invented by people with different and unique experiences.

We are all different, and sometimes differences among us look huge. But if we look at the origin of the human being, the origin of life, we will know we were all the same at first and our differences are a trivial matter compared to the mystery of our lives.

Life is too short to waste time on trying to be someone else. So, let’s accept who we are and live the life we want to live, even when people ask us to live someone else’s life. We are all special, unique, and beautiful in our own way. That makes this world more interesting, strong, and worth living in.
